The Experiences of Patients Treated with Complete Removable Dentures: A Systematic Literature Review of Qualitative Research

Patient experience has been acknowledged as a critical dimension of healthcare quality alongside patient safety and clinical effectiveness. However, experiences in complete removable denture wearing have not well established qualitatively. The purpose this review was to synthesize qualitative studies that investigated the people dentures order gain deeper understanding issues their causes. Databases PubMed, SCOPUS, CINAHL were searched assess articles published English from 2010 2021 globally. Qualitative reported on included. A total ten People who wear expressed diversified (both negative positive), including physical, social, psychological processes, affective responses. Furthermore, related emotions, maintenance dentures, hygiene, access care, cost. Those implant retained more positive than those conventional dentures. Denture is complex phenomenon involving wholeness environment. Healthcare professionals should be considering holistic approach when providing rehabilitation. There need further explore using approaches, can inform provide clear directions improvement initiatives health-care policy development.
